BELLA JOYCE CAUSEY WHYTE
June 6, 1928 – July 26, 2010

Joyce was born in Humansville, Missouri in the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Winger. She was the first born child of Lester Elude Causey and Grace Winger Causey. She was a very talented young child. At the age of two, she could count to 15, recite a dozen nursery rhymes, knew her A.B.C.'s by sight, spell many small words, and could sing six songs including the "Stein Song Course". She made her first public appearance at the Swedish Auditorium in Omaha singing, "Springtime in the Rockies".

Her parents moved to Taft, CA when she was four years old and started Causey Real Estate. She attended all Taft schools, and in high school she entertained the troops at Garner Field with tap dancing during WWII. After high school graduation she worked in Taft for the Water Co. and attended Taft College.

She married J.D. Whyte of Woodland, CA in 1946 and together they had four children. She loved being a wife and stay at home mother, knitting and sewing and cooking for her family.

In 1967 she began a career at the Westside Mosquito Abatement as office manager. She retired 27 years later and began traveling and cruising which brought her much enjoyment. She loved her family, her hometown Taft, her life long friends there, and her dogs.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Elude Causey; her mother, Grace; her sister, Jeannine Edgmon; and her oldest son, Jamie_Whyte. She is survived by her only living sibling and his wife, and by her brother-in-law. She also leaves behind her sons, her daughter and her husband, and her five grandsons, She leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren and her niece and her husband, her nephews and their wives,

The family is very thankful to her doctors and their staff, and Rosewood Retirement Community for their excellent care. The family rejoices that Joyce is in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A graveside funeral service will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. There are no visitation hours scheduled and the arrangements are under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
