Elmo Stephen Giovannetti Sr. passed away on July 16, 2010 in Concord, CA while surrounded by his family.

Elmo was born in San Francisco, CA on March 24, 1919. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois, in 2009 after sixty-seven years of marriage, son Charles Giovannetti, parents Louise Molinari and Alessandro Giovannetti and sister Rita D'Amico. Survived by daughter Carol Vergano, son Elmo Giovannetti Jr. (Kim), son William Giovannetti Sr. (Lynne), and four grandchildren, Anthony, Christina, Jennifer O'Leary (James), and William Jr.

Elmo grew up in the Sunnyside district of San Francisco. He married "the girl up the street". He graduated from Balboa High School, Class of 1938.

Elmo served in the 14th Armor Division of the US Army as a Sergeant/Tech 3 in WWII. When he returned home, Elmo and Lois settled in San Francisco on Mount Davidson. He worked as service manager for Chrysler. He also worked as an elevator mechanic for Fisher Elevator and Home Elevator. In 1982, Elmo and Lois moved to Concord CA. Elmo loved woodworking and gardening; building grandfather clocks, desks, and tables. He had a green thumb, fruits vegetables, beautiful orchids, and roses.

Friends may visit on Thursday, July 29, 2010 after 11:00 a.m. and are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City, CA.
The procession will continue to the graveside at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.
