Tragic Death of Baby

Infant Son of Mr. and Mrs. Orin Moore Drowns in Water Tank

Mr. and Mrs. Orin Moore, son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Moore and of the late Dennis Haines and Mrs. Haines, and former residents of this place were called upon to mourn the tragic death of their little son Ora. On Sunday the little one was playing about and had walked to the home from the yard with members of the family who went into the house leaving him on the porch. In a few minutes the baby was missed and they began looking for him and found him in the water tank. Two doctors rushed to the scene and everything was done to bring life to the little body, but found it impossible. The child was in the water only a few minutes.

Ora Kenneth Moore was born in Lyons county, Iowa, May 7, 1918, and passed away September 20, 1919. The body was brought here for burial. The funeral services were held at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Moore at 2 o'clock on Tuesday, September 23, 1919, Rev. A. J. Meierhoff of the Presbyterian church in charge.

A little bud was sent to us.
It filled our hearts with love,
But as it starts to bloom for us,
Our Father from above
Thought it would make a brighter star
And took it to the sky
Where it will shine and brighter grow,
Till we come, by and by.
