Actress. Appeared in films from 1937 to 1945. Initially she received billing under her real name Dorothy Howe. She was selected as the female winner of Jesse L. Lasky's "Gateway to Hollywood" radio talent search in July, 1939 and received membership in the Screen Actor's Guild and the stage name Virginia Vale. While known as George O'Brien's frequent leading lady, her non-western screen appearances included King of Alcatraz, The Big Broadcast of 1938, Blonde Comet and Broadway Big Shot. She retired from the acting profession in 1945 and subsequently worked for Lockheed for over thirty years and in her spare time was an ice skating judge.
