Recently, another of our old citizens RICHARD S. KELLER passed away, just one year from the tragic death of his son, Judge W. T. S. Keller, which crushed his spirit and no doubt, caused his death.
Mr. Keller was a citizen of Harrison county, Texas, more than half a century...[he] was born in Copiah county, Mississippi, March 2nd, 1825, and died at his residence in Marshall, Texas, Jan. 2nd, 1892.
Having the misfortune to lose his father when a very small boy, he went to live with Col. W. T. Scott, and with him moved to Texas in 1840. November 12th, 1846, he married Miss Temperance E. Sherrod. His wife dying he married again in 1862, and in 1878, Dec. 4th, he married Miss O. Jane Bradbury, who survives him, and with his children mourn his absence from the home circle. --The Daily Messenger (Marshall, Texas); Wednesday, 30 Mar 1892; pg. 4
