From the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Monday, September 9, 1918, p. 7:

The funeral of Clara M. Hale, who died at a local hospital Sunday, was held from the residence of her father, W. B. Hale, 611 Cromwell Street, Monday morning. Services were held by Rev. E. O. Thompson of Calvary Baptist Church and by the Eastern Star lodge. She is survived by her father, three brothers, Grady and Fred, who are in France, and Willie of Fort Worth.
