John Crowley was born in New York City, the son of Florence and Catherine (Shaughnessy) Crowley. He married Anne Murphy on January 20, 1943. John served in WWII as a tank commander in Europe. He worked as a salesman for Stanley Hardware. John and Anne had five children; Mary Anne, Kathleen, John, Patricia, and Joan. John died in Missouri at a young age from bad innoculations received in the Army.
