Freda G. Morris, 84, of Smithville, WV, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, in Minnie Hamilton Health Care, Grantsville, WV.
She was born Dec. 27, 1925, at Holidays Cove, Weirton, WV, a daughter of the late Charles C. and Iva L. Haught Nutter. She was a 1943 graduate of Harrisville High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Smithville United Methodist Church, where she had been the head of the prayer line for many years. She attended Hardman Chapel. She was also a member of Harris-Ritchie Post #3554, VFW, Ladies Auxiliary and Smithville CEOS. She liked collecting stamps, quilting, writing pen pals and crossword puzzeles.
Surviving are three children, Linda Morris, Oran Morris (Peggy) and Tammy Bell (Jerry "Bub"), all of Smithville; a sister, Evelyn L. Parker of Westland, MI; grandchildren, Valerie Morris of Mineral Wells, WV, Bradley Wells (Michelle) of Elizabeth, WV, and Sierra and Jacob Bell of Smithville; and great-grandchildren, Matthew morris of Elizabeth, Jared Morris of Davisville, WV, Jason Morris of Elizabeth, and Kirstyn Harris of Mineral Wells.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, homer S. Morris, Jr.; a son Louie Morris; a brother, Louie D. Nutter; two sisters, Elda Mae Nutter and Velma Elliott; and a granddaughter, Lora Mae Morris.
Services were Sunday, June 27th, at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with the Rev. Frank Plybon officiating. Burial followed in Harrisville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
