Carrie Abercrombie Watkins, 91, of Hwy. 76 W., Laurens and widow of William Alton Watkins passed away May 25, 2010 at the Laurens County Hospital.

Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Murphy and Emma Tollison Abercrombie. Mrs. Watkins was the valedictorian of Fairview Elementary in Fountain Inn, was a homemaker, and member of Shiloh United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 40 years.

Surviving are two children, William David Watkins and wife, Sun Ye Shin of Simpsonville and Joyce Watkins Irvin and husband, John of Laurens; one sister, Mildred Abercrombie Babb of Gray Court; four grandchildren, William Garry Watkins of Charleston, Angela Kay Watkins of Clarksville, TN, John Richard Irvin of Sumter and Karen Lynn Reeder of Laurens; and nine great-grandchildren, David VanBeuge, Bethannie and Emily Irvin, Hannah and Jordan Reeder, Ryan and Ashley Watkins, Alexander Driggers, and Chyenne Walker.
