Elizabeth Fenstermaker Williams, 87 of Gautier, MS passed away Monday, February 23, 2009 in Pascagoula, MS.
Mrs. Williams was born January 25, 1922 in Elizabeth, La to the late Charles and Martha "Mattie" Fenstermaker. She grew up in Oakdale, LA and after finishing high school she moved to Baton Rouge to attend LSU. She received a degree in music from LSU and realized two loves in her life, the LSU Tigers and her future husband, Donald Williams. She and Donald married on November 5, 1945 and moved to Indiana where they began a family. Donald's employment would lead them all across the country including Canada but in 1973 they moved to the Mississippi Coast and settled in for good. In 1996 shortly after their 51st anniversary, Don passed away and even though the love of her life was gone she pressed on enjoying her children, grandchildren, and yes the Tigers.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Robert, and Warren and a sister Wilda. She is survived by three children and their spouses; Gary and Janet Williams of Lacombe, Louisiana, Randall and Ellen Williams of Tempe, Arizona, and Lisa and Chuck Smith of Pascagoula, Mississippi; a sister Katie Ahrens of Oakdale, LA; nine grandchildren, Gary Jr., Keith, Bryan, Daniel, Jessica, Amber, Callie, Adam, and Roy; six great-grandchildren Blaine, Austin, Hunter, Joshua, Julia, and Tyler.
Funeral Service will be Friday, February 27, 2009 at 2pm from O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gautier with Rev. M.L. McCormick officiating and visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 2:00PM at Greenwood Memorial Park in Pineville, LA . Those unable to attend may express their condolences online at www.obryantokeefe.com
