Timothy Allen Harker, 8, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Harker, 96 Meadowlark Lane, died of injuries received Saturday afternoon when he accidently darted in front of a car on U.S. 50 near his home, about one mile east of Vincennes.

The youth was dead on arrival at Good Samaritan Hospital at 3:49 p.m. after he ran into a car driven by Mrs. Mary E. Stangle, 55, Route 4, Vincennes. She was not arrested.

The youth was apparently playing in his neighborhood and wandered onto the highway, which is near the Harker residence. He was born in Vincennes, April 1, 1963, son of Jack and Donna Neeley Harker.

He was in third grade at Franklin School and a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving besides the parents are two sisters, Jackie and Debbie and a brother, Troy, all at home; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Neeley, Route 1, Flat Rock and C. W. Harker, Methodist Home, Lawrenceville.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., at a place to be determined. Friends may call at Flummerfelt-Goodwin Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
