Great-Grandson of Jacob Fridley and Nancy Ann(Hite)Fridley, Grandson of Frederick Franklin Fridley, and America Jane(Mounts)Fridley, Son of Benjamin Franklin Fridley and Eliza Adelaide(Crome)Fridley. Husband of Helen Margaret(Holgate)Fridley. Father of Harry Benjamin, Warren Edwin, Clarence Crome (Dig) Fridley, Rosa Mae(Fridley)Grinsell, Robert Brice Fridley, Isla Helen(Fridley)Colbert, and Eleanor Louise (Fridley)Heinrici, Powers. The Fridley farm in Montana consisted of 160 acres, where Harry engaged in growing wheat, and it was to this farm he took his new bride, Helen Margaret (Holgate)Fridley. Although a newspaper clipping of their wedding referred to it as a "Cozy Cottage", it was eventually realized that this was not a proper description of their new Home! They were married on October 29, 1914, and just a year later their first infant, Ben Jr. arrived. Two Years after Ben's arrival, Warren Edwin arrived, and ultimately a total of seven children joined the family, within a twelve year period. Much could be said about the hardships that incurred in their attempt to eke out a living for their ever increasing family, in an era that was also plagued with the depression, that led to the Crash of 1929. Finally, Harry and Helen(Holgate)Fridley, within three months Harry sold his equipment and his interest in the farm to a neighbor, bought a 1928 touring Ford, and left Montana in 1928 as a result of an egg-sized hail storm pleted down, killing chickens that were unable to find shelter fast enough, breaking windows, and completely devasting the wheat fields just before they were ready for threshing. With Harry's sister, Edna(Fridley)McNeil, who had settled in Eureka, Ca., urging him to give up farming and move near her, they traveled to California with all seven children and relocated in Eureka, California.
