Raymond LeRoy Guthmiller, 61, died May 12, 2008 at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.

Raymond was born on May 31, 1946 in Woodworth, ND to Rudolph and Freida (Schmidt) Guthmiller. He went to Petersville Country School, Pettibone Public school and continued his education at Valley City State. He then went to work for Whitman's Inc. managing the Grain Elevator in Lake Williams. Raymond purchased the elevator at Pettibone in 1976. He owned and operated Pettibone Grain Co. until a fire destroyed it in 1984. He then purchased the elevator at Lake Williams in 1985 and later retired in 1987. Raymond and Lorraine Wolf ran the grocery store in Robinson, ND from 1989-1994, and went on to run the Kozy Kitchen Café in Pettibone, ND.

Raymond was married to Christi Thompson on June 16, 1967, they later divorced in 1987. Raymond spent the remainder of his life with Lorraine Wolf.

Raymond was a Charter Member of the Lions Club. He served a term as Mayor of Pettibone and also on the town board for several years. Raymond was also a proud member and elder of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

In his later years, Raymond could be seen driving around looking at his land and admiring the crops. He gave his signature wave to everyone that passed and conserved on gas by not exceeding 15 mph. If you had your window down, you would surely hear the Polka Hour playing. Raymond will be missed by all his family and friends. Coffee and Polka Hour will not be the same.

Raymond is survived by Lorraine Wolf, his 3 sons, Terry (Jennifer), Dave (Tiffany), Troy (Shonna); 3 daughters, Pamala (Tony Larson), Michelle (Bill Lytle), and Melissa (Chad Lindberg); 9 Grandchildren and 2 new ones expected later this year, as well as, Lorraine's 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Raymond is also survived by his mother, Freida Guthmiller, Wilton, ND; 1 brother, Eugene (Charlene), Pettibone, ND; 2 sisters, Connie (Todd Schlafman), Wilton, ND, Marlys (Marlin Harr), Pettibone, ND.

He is preceded in death by his father, Rudolph, and his brother, Earl.
