Grant, Frank A., 81, of Pompano Beach, FL, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2010. Frank was born in Boston, MA on October 5, 1928 to Nicholas and Marie Grant and has been a resident of South Florida for over 43 years. He graduated from Belmont High School in Belmont, MA where he was captain of the basketball team, which won two state championships, and proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps during WWII. An avid Red Sox fan, Frank worked as a "mixologist" in the hospitality industry for many years, making numerous friends with his quick wit and dry sense of humor, and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Grant and brother, Edward Grant. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Betty Grant; children, Steven Grant, James (Elizabeth) Grant, Marie Grant, Janice (James) Comeau, Jonnell Grant and Eddie Grant; grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher, Marty and Jonathon; and sister, Elaine Grant. A memorial mass celebrating Frank's life will he held on Tuesday (today), 10:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Pompano Beach. Frank will be interred in South Florida VA National Cemetery with military honors at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Frank's name.
