G.W. Bellomy, 79, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Service: 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Calvario Funeral Chapel (formerly Shannon North Funeral Chapel). Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home G.W. was born Aug. 5, 1930, to John Henry and Avery Faye Woods Bellomy. He was older brother to Kermit James and Linda Kay. He graduated Technical High School in Fort Worth. G.W. married Nita Doris Lawyer, and together they had four sons. In his younger years, G.W. was a police officer for Saginaw. He later owned FWD trucking company. G.W. loved his Lord and Savior. He received his doctorate of divinity from Landmark Baptist College. He was the pastor of Maranatho Baptist Church in Fort Worth for 18 years. He loved his congregation dearly. G.W. was met at heaven's door by his mother, father and brother. Survivors: His loving wife of 58 years, Nita Bellomy; sons, Garland Jr. and wife, Sandra, Rodney and wife, Linda, G. Craig, and Gavin and wife, Lisa. He was the proud granddad of 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandkids and numerous friends and family; and a loving congregation.
