MANLEY G. FULLER and MAUDE MAY FULLER

Manley George, son of John and Amelia Fuller, was born in a French settlement in Canada on September 6, 1862, and died at his home in Lucas, Iowa, after a few weeks illness on July 11, 1946, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and five days.

At the age of nine months, he came with his parents to Illinois where they resided for several years before coming to Iowa, where they located on a farm near Lacona.

Maude May Foster, daughter of James and Alice Foster, was born in Lucas, Iowa, on November 20, 1883, and died at the Yocom hospital in Chariton on July 13, 1946, at the age of 62 years, 7 months and 24 days.

On December 4, 1904, Manley Fuller and Maude Foster were united in marriage and they established their home in Lucas where they continued to reside until their deaths which occured only 48 hours apart.

To this union four daughters were born, Opal, Icel and Lois, who preceded them in death and Lorene Speers, of Omaha, Nebr., also growing to manhood in the home were William DeBord, of San Diego, Calif., and James A. DeBord, of Lucas, and a granddaughter, Donna Jean, who came to live with them in June 1930. Mr. Fuller was employed on the railroad for a number of years, retiring in 1928.

Mr. and Mrs. Fuller united with the Methodist church in Lucas during the ministry of Rev. Wickard and have continued their membership with that church where Mrs. Fuller was an untiring worker with the Ladies Aid Society.

A kind and loving father and mother, helpful friends and neighbors, they will be sadly missed in the home and community.

Survivors include their daughter, Lorene, two sons, William and James, and granddaughter, Donna Jean. Mr. Fuller is also survived by three brothers, O. J. Fuller, of Chariton, William Fuller, of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Bert C. Fuller, of Creston. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Fuller was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Double funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Archie Beals, of Russell, Monday, July 15, at 2 p.m., at the Methodist church in Lucas. Burial services were at the Fry Hill cemetery where the bodies were placed in a double grave.
