G.C. Chase of Sugar Camp Passes Away

Was Formerly Resident of Rhinelander But for 10 Years Lived in Sugar Camp

Passing away peacefully and calmly, G. C. Chase said farewell to mortal life at an early hour this morning at his home in the town of Sugar Camp, the cause of his death, being given as heart failure.
Deceased was 72 years of age and had been a resident of this city and vicinity for many years and has resided with his aged wife on their farm near Sugar Camp for the pat ten or twelve years, Mr. Chase operating an apiary or bee farm with great success. Mr. Chase first came to Rhinelander as manager of the Robbins flooring factory at the time of its erection.
Of immediate family who are left to mourn his loss there remains his aged wife and two daughters, one of whom resides in Washington, D.C., and the other at Little Rock, Arkansas.
Arrangements for the funeral will be delayed until the arrival of one or both of these daughters.
But little can be said at this time of the life of the deceased, but it will for the present suffice to say that he was considered one of the leading men of his community and occupied a high position in the confidence and regard of the business men of this city. Several of the leading businessmen of the city went to the Chase farm this afternoon to offer their sympathy and assistance to Mrs. Chase until such time as the relatives are able to arrive.
