Lance T. Black, 42, of Chandler, Arizona, was admitted to Chandler Regional Medical Center on Friday, June 25, 2010 after a sudden accident. He passed away peacefully on Monday, June 28th, surrounded by family and friends.

Born May 30, 1968, in Fremont, California, the son of late Robert and Anita Black. He was the youngest of 4 brothers.

After attending Beyer High School in Modesto, Lance enlisted in the U. S. Army and served as a Unit Supplyman, later earning his Jump Master Wings. After an honorable discharge, he moved to Ventura, California with his young family. In 1996, he became employed with Safety-Kleen Systems in Modesto as an entry level truck driver. By 2001, he relocated with the company to Chandler, Arizona, to serve as the National Accounts Manager.

While living in Ventura, Lance was involved in several church ministries and service-based outreach programs which led him around the world, including South Africa. He sold everything he owned in order to train with Youth With a Mission in Texas. He had a passion for serving others and recently served those affected by the Hurricane Katrina disaster. In April 2010, Lance traveled independently to Haiti to work with orphans and victims of the earthquake there.

Along with his generous heart, those who were blessed to have known Lance will remember him for his adventurous and competitive spirit, great sense of humor, devotion to his two boys, and love for riding dirtbikes with his sons and brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Gabriel Black of Chandler, Arizona; children, Josh and Evan Black; Mother, Anita Black of Modesto, California; Brothers Daamon and Shawn (Erin) Black of Modesto, California; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert and brother, Kevin.
