Wife Nancy Jane Samples born in Itawamba County, Mississippi. Nancy's parents buried in a family cemetery at Nancy's birth place. Aaron, 63, and Nancy, 54, recorded on the 1860 Census in Colbath (Arkadelphia), Clark County, Arkansas.

I do volunteer work for the Pike County Archives & History Society located in Pike County.

I have good information that Redland Cemetery use to be called Mt. Zion Cemetery where Aaron and his wife Nancy are buried. This cemetery is located about a mile or so East of Kirby, Arkansas just off Hwy 84 on the north side. There are no markers for them.

Several years ago, another member of our organization was visited by a member of this family from out west who came to see the cemetery. She took him there and he showed her the place that they are buried. He said they are just to the left of the gate in the corner. This cemetery has a chain link fence around it, put there by the Archives. Aaron Morphew owned 80 acres of land and it is very close to this cemetery.

Redland use to be a thriving community, but has gone now. It is unknown when the Mt. Zion Cemetery name was changed to Redland Cemetery. At the time of Aaron's and Nancy's death, this cemetery was a part of Clark County as was his land. The boundary lines were changed 25th of April, 1873, so one can see the confusion of the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Pike County and Clark County. Aaron died sometime after July 2, 1860, as that is the date he purchased his Pike County land.
