Eleanor G. Trudgen, 91, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Kittanning, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at the Good Shepherd Hospice.
She was born Feb. 12, 1919, in Rayburn Township, the daughter of James H. and Florence I. (Clever) Berline. Mrs. Trudgen was a former member of the Free Methodist Church and a 1937 graduate of Kittanning High School. She had worked as a secretary for the Armstrong County School District for 25 years until her retirement in 1982. Eleanor also was a former tax collector and a school director for Rayburn Township.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Dr. William D. Trudgen and his wife, Carolyn, of Winter Haven, Fla.; a grandson, Steffen Trudgen; four granddaughters, Suzette Castellanos, Claire Daniel, Julie Daniel and Katherine Daniel; three great-grandchildren, Cyrus, Nathaniel and Mekayla; and a son-in-law, Kenneth Daniel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald Trudgen with whom she shared 46 years of marriage; a daughter, Karen Daniel; and two brothers, Edgar Berline and Robert C. Berline.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the BAUER FUNERAL HOME, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held from 10 until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Free Methodist Church, 2339 Freeport Road, Kittanning, with the Rev. Mel McRoberts officiating. Interment will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, East Franklin Township. Memorial contributions may be made in Eleanor's honor to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson St., Auburndale, FL 33823. Arrangements are being handled by Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc.
