William L. Broas
Dies at His Home
William L. Broas, 64, 10 North
White street, died at his home this
morning, after a, two-year illness. He
was born in Ulster county, Mar. 28,
1875, and was the son of William
and Caroline Canfield Broas.
He is survived by his widow, the
former Lydia Smailes; three sons,
Floyd Broas of Port Jervis, Howard
and George Broas of Poughkeepsie;
five daughters, Mrs. Inez Froelick,
Mrs. Grant Lyons, Mrs. Everetta
Heater. Mrs. Gertrude Hornbeck and
Mrs. Marion Johnson. all of Pough-
keepsie; one brother, John Broas of
Ellenville and two sisters, Mrs. Miles
Allen of Middletown and Mrs. Her-
bert Doherty of Bethlehem, Pa.
Funeral services will be held from
the late home at 2:30 o'clock Sun-
day afternoon. Dr. J. Addison Jones
will officiate. Burial will be in the
Manchester cemetery, in charge of
Charles J. Schlude.
