Marie C. Spence, Crab Orchard, Dies

Mrs. Marie C. Spence, 36, of Crab Orchard, died in Lincoln Thursday morning after a six-week illness.

Born in Tyndall, S.D., she had lived in Crab Orchard for two years, going there from Lincoln, where she lived 13 years. She was once a resident of South Sioux City.

Mrs. Spence was a former president of the Farm House auxiliary, and belonged to Ceres club and the Catholic church.

She is survived by her husband, Robin A.; two daughters, Ruth Harriet and Jane Catherine, both of Crab Orchard; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Meyer of South Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. Austin G. Fisher of Linz, Austria; and four brothers, George, Erven and Harry Meyer, all of South Sioux City, and Ray Meyer of Homer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Margaret's church, Crab Orchard, with Msgr. Thomas Barden of Techumseh and Rev. A. Pirokowski of Crab Orchard officiating.

The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at Hodgman-Splain mortuary. Burial will be in Crab Orchard.
