Vitula Baize Payton, the daughter of Madison T. Baize and Eliza Renfrow, was born on July 23, 1882. She was the wife of Walter G. Payton, the son of Simeon Payton and Hester Ann Duncan. She was the mother of Anna Liza Payton, who was born on April 1, 1915. Anna Liza died on February 20, 1916. Vitula died a day later on February 21, 1916. They were buried in the Payton Cemetery west of Dan Station Road near the Ohio County line in western Grayson County, Kentucky. Walter G. Payton died 36 years later on March 6, 1957. Vitula and Madison share the same stone. Their son Anderson or Andrew T. Payton was also bured there after his death on December 31, 1969.
