Lexington, June 10 - Funeral services for Mrs. Emory D. Younginer, 60, were conducted at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Union Chapel Methodist church, Irmo, by her pastor, the Rev. Frank DuBose, assisted by the Rev. J. R. T. Major, the Rev. J. L. Singleton, the Rev. J. T. Frazier, the Rev. R. A. Hughes and her nephew, the Rev. John Madison Younginer. Mrs. Younginer died at her home Thursday morning. Although she had been practically an invalid for the past five years and critically ill for the past ten weeks, she bore her suffering with patience and Christian fortitude. She was born in the Dutch Fork section of Lexington county July 18, 1879, the daughter of the late Jacob R. and Cummins Bickley Bouknight, and had spent all of her life near Irmo. She was a member of Union Chapel Methodist church at Irmo and a member of the Women's Missionary society of the church and a former president. She was active in the religious and social affairs of her community so long as her health permitted. Besides her husband she is survived by five sons, B. F. Younginer, Macon, Ga.; H. E. and Carl Younginer of Irmo; James W. Younginer, Baden, N.C.; Murray J. Younginer of Columbia; six daughters, Mrs. J. O. Shealy and Mrs. O. K. Slice, both of Columbia; Mrs. O. F. Bickley and Misses Annie Ruth, Nina and Mary Younginer, all of Irmo; one sisters, Mrs. Annie Kirby, Durham, N.C.; six brothers, Haskell Bouknight, Chester; Henry, Alphus, David, Oscar and Ernest Bouknight, all of Newberry, and 21 grandchildren. © The State, Columbia, SC, 11 Jun 1939
