Mettie E. Cornwell was born Oct 30, 1869. She united in marriage to Edgar M. Speece Dec. 29, 1897. To them was born one child little Rex who departed this life Nov. 1, 1901 who has awaited but a short time for the coming of dear mama. She united with the Christian church at New Prospect Aug 18, 1891 and has ever been a true and faithful member. She was a loving daughter, a sister dear, a kind and loving wife, and a devoted mother. She had a kind word for every one and was dearly loved by all her school mates. She departed this life Jan. 17, 1902 after a short illness of five days. But she has gone to meet loving savior, loving father, and darling Rex and are loss is her eternal gain.
