Miss Sylvia Palmer, 57, Stricken on School Playground
STONINGTON — Miss Sylvia W. Palmer, 57, of 4-A Granite St., Westerly, a teacher in the Stonington School system, died Saturday night, November 18, 1967, at Westerly Hospital.
Miss Palmer was stricken while on playground duty a week ago at the Broadway School in Mystic, and was rushed to Westerly hospital by ambulance.
Born in Stonington Jan. 21, 1910, she was a daughter of Henry Rhodes and Louise Wheeler Palmer of Stonington,
and attended Stonington schools.

She is a graduate of Willimantic Normal School, now Eastern Conn. State College.
Miss Palmer taught at the Patterson School in Bristol, Conn., before returning to the Stonington system ten years
ago.
Besides her parents, Miss Palmer is survived by a sister, Mrs. Walter L. Taylor of South Yarmouth, Mass., and several
nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Shea - Williams Funeral Home, Pawcatuck, is in
charge of arrangements.
