Mrs. John C. Rathman Dead.

Died: Wednesday morning, August
21, 1895, Mrs. John C. Rathman
Aged about 65 years.

Deceased was born in England in 1850, came to America in 1855, was married to Mr. Rathman in 1867 and lived at Winona, Minnesota, Winneshiek and Lyon Counties in Iowa, and with her family, consisting of husband, three sons and two daughters, came to Moody County in 1886 and settled on a farm west of Egan. She had not enjoyed good health for some time, and during the most of the present season had been in a very critical condition. The funeral will be held tomorrow (Friday) at 10 o'clock, from the Methodist Church, Rev. Cleworth conducting the service.

In the death of Mrs. Rathman there has passed from earth a most perfect Christian character, but its influence will be held by family and friends so long as life remains to those who have met her on the sea of human existence. All who met her were impressed with her gentle womanhood, her grand fulfillment of the sacred office of mother and of wife, and her perfect submission to the will of her Savior. All her life she was a professing Christian and what she professed she likewise practiced most perfectly. Sorrow will be felt by all for the family which loses such a companion, but the influence of her life will serve as a divine inspiration to her loved ones, every beckoning them onward and upward.
