John Walter "Dub" Sledge of Granbury, 88, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010, in Granbury.
Mr. Sledge was born Oct. 11, 1921, the son of Calvin Sledge and Lucinda Nelson Sledge. He grew up in the Fall Creek community, was baptized 60 years ago and became a member of the Granbury Church of Christ.
He was married 59 years to Kathryn Louise Massey Sledge. They were married on June 2, 1951 in Granbury.
Mr. Sledge was a World War II veteran stationed in the South Pacific with the Air Force from Sept. 1941 to Dec. 1944.
He was employed 49 years with Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth as an aerospace radio operator and technician.
He is now reunited with brothers and sisters; Harley Sledge, Louise Sledge Holly, Clifton Sledge, Junior Sledge, Robert Sledge.
Survivors: Wife Kathryn Louise Sledge; children, John Michael Sledge, Debbie Sledge, Mark Sledge; grandchildren, Jonathan Sledge, Evan Sledge, Sarah Sledge; brothers and sisters, Pearlene Price, Winnelle King, Billy Joe Sledge.
