Funeral rites held for Mrs. Herring on October 31

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Heggie Herring, 89, were held from Wright & Ferguson Funeral Chapel in Jackson on October 31, with Dr. J. Moody McDill officiating, assisted by the Reverend Harry Raymond.

Mrs. Herring died October 29 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. M. Davis, in Jackson after an illness of several months.

She was a native of Carroll County, having been a long time resident of Vaiden but had made her home in Jackson for several years. She was a member of the Fondren Presbyterian Church in Jackson.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Davis and Mrs. C. B. Pettigrew of Jackson; one son, Walter S. Heggie of Durant, one sister, Mrs. Ila Brewer DeVine of Itta Bena; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Interment was in the Vaiden Cemetery.
