She was born in Montgomery Co. on December 2, 1960, the daughter of Harold and Shirley Nelson Haywood. She was a member of Castle Hayne Baptist Church and helped out with several charities. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Surviving is her husband, Derek Jones of the home; son, Jeremy Jones of Leland, NC; daughter, Cassidy Jones of Charleston, SC; parents, Harold and Shirley Haywood of Wilmington, NC; brother, Richard Haywood of Leland, NC.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 pm Sunday at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel and at other times at the residence of her parents, 342 Scottsdale Drive, Wilmington, NC 28411.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, June 29, 2009 at Castle Hayne Baptist Church by Rev. Wayne Cottle. Interment will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park in Hampstead, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zimmer Cancer Center, 2131 S. 17th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401, Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401, or to the Castle Hayne Baptist Church, 4535 Parmele Road, Castle Hayne, NC 28429.
