Don Hayes DeSha Sr., 77, of Chattanooga, TN died on Sunday, July 25, 2010.

He was born and raised in East Chattanooga and attended East Chattanooga Elementary, Hardy Junior High and graduated from Central High School, class of 1950. After graduation, he attended the University of Chattanooga. Mr. DeSha proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He was employed by Radio and Appliance Distributors for the majority of his business career as a sales representative that allowed him to travel extensively to meet numerous clients and friends. In addition to his consuming job as a Territory Sales Manager and Vice President, Don deveoted many hours to his family and community activities.

Don was a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM 755, Chattanooga Scottish Rite Society, The American Legion, V.F.W., Elks Club, Valleybrook and Creeks Bend Golf and Country Clubs. In addition to all these activities, he still found time to pursue his hobbies of hunting, fishing, golfing and University of Tennessee Athletics events. He also enjoyed keeping up with his former classmates and friends through the East Chattanooga Old Timers.

Mr. DeSha is preceded in death by his parents, William "Elmer" DeSha Sr. and Marjorie Hayes DeSha; beloved niece, Susan DeSha Headrick Grant and son-in-law, William "Porky" McKinney.

Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly DeSha McKinney and fianc, Aaron Crowder; son, Don H. DeSha Jr. and wife, Hilda; brother, William "Bud" DeSha and wife, Sharon; sister, Judy DeSha Reece and husband, Kenneth; granddaughter, Kathryn "Katy" McKinney; grandson, Gary Joseph Mullins and wife, Christy; great-grandsons, Austin and Will; several nieces and nephews; former wife, best friend and mother of his children, JoAnne Moore DeSha.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Keith Reece officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN
