He and Elizabeth had the following children (with married names for the girls, if known): Jane Richey, Mary C. Richey Cooper, Pelemla Josephine Richey Campbell, Martha Richey, Charles Sanford "Polk" Richey, Teresa Ann Francis Richey Campbell and Louisa Eliza Lucretia Richey Moore.
Sanford and Elizabeth's son "Polk" Richey was killed in 1870 near Thatchers Landing. Polk had one child, Charles Sanford "Charley" Richey.
Its unknown when or where Sanford died. He isn't recorded with his wife Elizabeth on the 1870 US census so it could be that he died between 1860 and 1870.
