Sarah married John Henry McHone on 26 Dec 1880 in Pitt, North Carolina.
Sarah was one of 6 children of William & Ashta. Ashta also was know as Bashti or Vashti. William died about July 1860 of Typhoid Fever, according to the 1860 Mortality Census. Ashta died about 1859. Her youngest son was my 2nd great grandfather, Newton and he was about 2 or 3 when he was orphaned.
All six siblings can be found living with their grandmother (Sarah Pike) in the 1860 Census in Stokes Co. N.C. By 1870 Census, all the siblings were living with different families.
