BILL MOL, BUXTON RESIDENT - There was a star danced and under that Bill Mol was born on 1 February 1919, on 20 January 2008 he left his earthly family to be with the Lord.
He was the beloved husband for 65 years to Lucille (Gray) Mol. He was the dear and loving father of five children; William Mol, Jr. and wife, Paige, James Mol, and wife, Nancy, Charlotte Mol Neal, and husband, Barry, Glenda Mol Dexter, and husband, Tom, Patti Mol Roma, and husband, David.
His grandchildren are William Mol, III, James Mol, Jr., Gretchen Mol Williams, Gregory and Joshua Neal, Katie Dexter, Heather and Nicholas Roma.
His great-grandchildren are William Mol, IV, Parker Mol, Savannah Neal and Ptolemy Williams.
He is also survived by his brother George, and wife, Marge and many extended family members and friends.
A veteran of WWII, he served in the U.S.C.G. and Civil Service for 40 years and retired from the U.S.C.G. Academy. A long-standing member of Duck Woods United Methodist Church, he was also a 32nd Degree Mason, a former volunteer fireman at Duck Woods F.D. and a 30 year member at Duck Woods C.C.
He loved golfing and traveling and most recently since his move to Currituck Sound, bird watching. But, the greatest times of his life were spent planning trips and going on adventures with his dear wife and best friend, Lucille.
A memorial service will be held at Duck Woods United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Wittman officiating on Thursday, 24 Jan. at 11 a.m. A private family burial service will be held at the family cemetery in Buxton. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, N.C. is in charge of arrangements.
