Bryant Lawrence "Bud" Cleveland is buried next to his father, Frank Lawrence Cleveland (1900-1987) and his sister, Diana May Cleveland Kitt (1930-2009) in the Murray City Cemetery, Murray, Utah. His mother, Erma Giles Cleveland (1900-1959) is buried on the other side of the same cemetery, near her parents (Giles). Bryant's nickname was "Bud". He was born in the Sugarhouse area of Salt Lake City, Utah, then grew up in Grace, South-Eastern Idaho. He graduated in the Preston High School Class of 1943. He enlisted at age 17 in the Marines during WWII, served in the South Pacific and was wounded in the Battle of Iwo Jima. When he returned to Salt Lake City, after WWII, he attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City . He married a former Preston, Idaho High School classmate, Norma Kofoed in Salt Lake City in 1947. In 1953, Bud and his wife, Norma, and their daughter, Kathy, moved from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas, Nevada, where the family lived until Bud and Norma divorced in 1965. Bud's best friends in Las Vegas included his cousin "Dusty" Ford, musician Joe Maize, and Charlotte and Lisle Bordwell. Bud lived in the Reno, Nevada area from 1966 until his death from heart disease (atherosclerosis) at the age of 55 on October 31, 1980.
