Lena Gillett

OTTAWA -- Lena V. Gillett, 87, Ottawa, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at an Ottawa nursing home.
Mrs. Gillett was a sales clerk at Woolworth's in Ottawa several years ago.
She was born June 29, 1913, in Maple Hill, the daughter of Henry F. and Jane Drury Schleif. She attended school in Princeton and moved to Ottawa in the 1930s.
Mrs. Gillett was a member of First Christian Church, the Christian Women's Fellowship and the Homebuilder's Sunday school class, all in Ottawa.
She married Edward Crawford on July 3, 1934, in Ottawa. He preceded her in death March 30, 1972. She married John J. Ebeck on Aug. 6, 1973. They were divorced. She married Harland Gillett on Dec. 2, 1985, in Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death March 8, 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Gene Crawford, Kingfisher, Okla., and Gary Crawford, Topeka; a daughter, Margaret Sutherland, Flippin, Ark.; three stepsons, Harland Gillett, McCloud, Dennis Gillett, Rantoul, and Gary Gillett, Ozark, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Schmitt, Princeton; a sister, Alice Condit, Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; and 17 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Dengel and Son Mortuary in Ottawa. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Gillett will lie in state after 9 a.m. today at the mortuary where visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice and sent in care of the mortuary.
