Mary Claton was born on December 26, 1825, in Warren Co, Ohio. Her father Thomas Claton b1798 was 27 and her mother Elizabeth nee Laird was 23. She married Martin Stephens on January 15, 1843 in Shelby, Indiana. They had six known children during their marriage between the years 1844 and 1853. She passed away as a young mother on August 12, 1853 in Washington Twp, Shelby Co, Indiana at the young age of 27 giving birth to her youngest Dau Sarah and was laid to rest in this cemetery. Five of her 6 children are listed below. Her widowed Husband - Martin - married her younger sister Cynthia in 1874.
