Donald R. "Don" Kirk, 81, of Robinson, died at 10:46 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010, following his discharge from Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson en route to Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong.

Born April 16, 1929, in rural Oblong, he was the son of Dorsey F. Kirk and Blanche (Welker) Kirk. He retired from Marathon Oil Company in 1985, Alkylation Unit. He was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Robinson Loyal Order of Moose, Star Prowlers Square Dance Club, and Charter Member of Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, Hardee's Coffee Klatches, ballroom dancing and playing pool at the Senior Center.

On April 26, 1952, he married Theresa M. Rennier, who survives. Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Susan Kirk, of rural Flat Rock; two daughters, Nancy Chilcote, of Robinson, and Lora Kirk, of Robinson; and a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jay Nichols, of Robinson; four grandchildren, Jessica Nichols, Justin Nichols, Dallas Kirk and Dillon Kirk; two great-grandchildren, Jayce Mix and Jaylee Nichols; a sister, Evelyn Cunefare, of Robinson; a sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Rex McGehee, of Oblong; a sister-in-law, Mary Kirk, of Kingsland, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding his in death were his parents, a brother, Charles Kirk, and a brother-in-law, Arthur Cunefare.
