John was the young son of John and Mary Frank Falk. John had immigrated with at least one brother from Germany as had Mary Frank Falk. Mary Who was born near Rhine Falls Bavaria on October 4, 1836, came with two sisters and was married in Illinois to John Falk in 1860 Little John was their first-born child and passed away at the age of 2 years. The family had several more children born while they lived in Illinois, among them was Emma, Lena, William, Frank, Charles, and Rose. The family moved to Sedgwick County, Kansas and lived near Furley, Kansas
