He was born July 22, 1917, in Walker County, son of the late James Wesley Wilson and the late Catherine Jane Gentry Wilson Eaton. He spent his early childhood in Lafayette and most of his life in Floyd County. He was a member of East View Baptist Church and the Local Union Auto Workers. Prior to retirement in 1967, he was employed by Fairbanks Company. Six brothers and two sisters died earlier.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Myrtis Eaton, Lafayette; three brothers, Robert Eaton, Lafayette; James Eaton, Chatsworth; and Troy Eaton, Tampa, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at East View Baptist Church with the Revs. Harold Jolly and Billy Coulter officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Cemetery.
The body will remain in Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at other hours will receive friends a the residence of John Hyde, 17 Lawrence St. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
