Lois married James Robinson on October 19, 1814 in Norton, Portage County, Ohio. They were married by William Wetmore (reported in some sources as William Prior of Northampton, but the official record shows William Wetmore), a Justice of the Peace, at the residence of the bride's parents south of Johnson's Corners in Norton Township. James' residence was shown as Northampton. They had three children: Esther (1818 - 1903), Harriet, and Andrew DeWitt (1825 - 1895).
James Robinson (location of grave unknown), was born between 1775 and 1785. The History of Summit County, Ohio said that James was originally from Otsego County, NY. He was one of the first settlers in Summit County in NE Ohio. He may have arrived as early as 1806, but he was definitely there by June 8, 1808 because his name was on the voter list in Northampton on that date. James was a business partner of Henry Van Hyning from Half Moon in Saratoga County, New York. The Van Hynings moved to Northampton, Ohio in 1805. James Robinson and Henry Van Hyning acted as real estate agents for the Stoddard brothers to sell land in "New Connecticut". In 1806, there is recorded a Power of Attorney from John Stoddard to Henry Van Hyning and James Robinson. James married Henry's daughter Lean in about 1808. They had four children (as shown in James' will): Philander, Eliza (about 1809; married Jesse Vickers), Henry (1810-1896), and James Jr. (1812-1890). Lean must have died around 1813. James died about May 24, 1827.
After James' death, Lois married George Chapman in 1828, and they had three children: Emily S. (about 1828-1857), Mary S. (1830-1893) and a son. The family lived in several places including Montville, Medina County, Ohio and Fostoria, Seneca County, Ohio. In her later years, after the death of her husband, Lois lived with her daughter Esther Robinson Diver in Wood County, Ohio.
