William Hiram Clark was born 23 March 1865 in Missouri to Aseneath (Zenith) Whiteside (born 1837 in Indiana) and William Clark (born in Georgia). In 1870, at the age of five, he was living with his mother in the home of the Perkins family. Little is known about his father. His mother was first married to Hiram Jenkins who died in the Civil War, after which she married Wm. Clark. William Hiram is the only child from this union. In 1880, William was living with his mother and step-father, Robert McFenls in Jackson, Arkansas. It was in Arkansas where he met and married Redia Smith. They had a son, James Arthur Clark. Redia died in 1888, and William married Josephine Huffaker in 1894 in Grayson County, TX. Together they had 3 children, Virgia, Frankie and Jesse. William died July 12, 1938 in Collinsville, Grayson County, TX from a stroke.
