Verna V. Rusch Thronson, age 79, formerly of 55 E. Chicago St., Kiel, died Monday evening, February 13, 1995, at Calumet Medical Center Chilton, where she was a patient for one day. She had been a resident of Chilton Village the past six months.
Funeral services will be held at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Kiel. Rev. Raymond C. Coombs, pastor will officiate with burial in the Rantoul Cemetery, town of Rantoul.

She is the former Verna Haese, born June 6, 1915, in the town of Rockland, Wis., daughter of the late Louis and Alvina Brocker Haese. Verna attended school in the town of Rockland. She married Elmer Rusch, June of 1934, in Reedsville. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1951. In June of 1964, she married Norris Thronson, in Reedsville. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1970. Verna farmed in the town of Eaton until 1962, when she moved to Kiel. Verna lived in Valders with her husband, Norris until 1978, when she moved back to Kiel. Verna was a member of St. Peter’s UCC, Kiel.

Survivors include three children, Jeanette and (Wyman) Boettcher, Chilton, Eugene (Betty) Rusch Sr., Oshkosh, Carol Jane (Dale) Zimmermann, Kiel; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step great grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, two sisters and one brother.
