Vows Read for Arkdale Couple
Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Pearl Waller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Waller, and SFC Ivan W. Smedbron, son of Mrs. Ida Smedbron, Arkdale. The ceremony was performed May 30 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arkdale by the Rev. Jorden Jacobsen.
For her wedding, the bride wore white tulle with lace and a shoulder length veil. She carried a bouquet of white gladioli and blue cornflowers. She was given in marriage by her father.
Her sister Ada Waller was bridesmaid, and she wore light blue net and carried peach gladioli and white cornflowers. The groom was attended by Jesse Barnes and the ushers were Donald Waller and Robert Smedbron.
Music during the ceremony was played by Mrs. Aletta Hansen and Glen Chaffee was the nuptial soloist.
A repeption for 100 relatives and friends was held in the church parlors. The couple left for a brief wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin.
The bride is a beauty operator in Milwaukee and the groom is stationed in Fort Knox, Ky.
Out of town guests were from Madison, Milwaukee, Waukesha, Kenosha and Nekoosa.

Obituary:
Pearl Arlis Smedbron, 78, of Dellwood, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics in Friendship.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church in Arkdale. The Rev. Cathryn Schifferdecker will officiate. Interment will be in South Arkdale Cemetery in Strongs Prairie in Adams County.

Pearl was born June 1, 1927, in Strongs Prairie to Oscar and Clara (Rosgard) Waller. She was married to Ivan W. Smedbron on May 30, 1953, in Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church.

She worked at Marion's Beauty Shop in Adams until her retirement in 1988.

Survivors include her husband of Arkdale; a son, Eric I. of Arkdale; two grandchildren; two brothers, Chester (Marge) Waller of Arkdale and Donald (Betty) Waller of Dellwood; and a sister, Sada Ritter of Tuscon, Ariz.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship.
