Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, church community member and volunteer PATRICIA K. GUBERA passed away July 23, 2010 at the age of 77, surrounded by her family. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Pat attended Loretto Academy for high school and attended and graduated from Mount St. Scholastica College with a major in Home Economics.S he married John A. Gubera on February 14, 1952, and went on to bring her six children into the world: Theresa, John, Thomas, James, Robert and Michael. A founding member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Pat was deeply rooted in the church's social ministries. She was coordinator of Meals on Wheels, a manager of the church's resale shop, Joseph's Coat, and a pillar of The Gathering Place, a once-a-month gathering for guests with mild dementia. She served on the boards for Joseph's Coat and Social Ministries. Pat was formerly involved with Ride On, an equestrian program to help children with special needs, as well as a Children's Librarian at Kendall Branch Library. She is survived by her four remaining children, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being held at 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
