Artist. A children's book illustrator and graphic artist, while living in Oak Park, Illinois, next door to her brother, Frank Lloyd Wright, she studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After moving to New York City, New York, she illustrated 63 children's books, and did cover design and illustration for women's magazines. As work became scarce in the early 1930s, she turned to creating one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories for women, such as embroidered jackets, embellished Capezio skimmer shoes, and felt slippers and shoes, which became quite popular during the war years, when women were limited to just two pairs of leather shoes per year. In later years, she created "yarn paintings" and incorporated collage into her needlework pieces. At 85, she had a one-woman show in New York. “The Valley of the God-Almighty Joneses,” her memoir of her extended family’s farm life in Wisconsin was published in 1965. She was the mother of Elizabeth Enright.
