Mike Dobbins was the son of Otha "Othie" Dobbins (1909-1970) and Dorsey Irene (Ruddell) Dobbins (1908-1991). He had two brothers Larry and Gary Dobbins.

Mike graduated from Kirksville High School in 1964. He was married twice, to Vonda and to Judy. He had no children of his own, but had step-children. He and his wife Judy also took care of several foster children for the Division of Family Services in Adair County, Missouri.

Both Mike and his wife Judy were great cooks. Mike worked as a chef and at times had his own restaurant. He was also a dispatcher in the Adair County Sheriff's Department in Kirksville, Missouri, while Judy was the cook for the Detention Center.

Michael Lee Dobbins, 59 of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 5, 2004 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.
The son of Othie E. and Dorsey (Ruddell) Dobbins, he was born Mar. 28, 1945 in Brookfield, Missouri. On Feb. 14, 1984 in Gallatin, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Judith Louise Reynolds, who survives.
Mike is also survived by two daughters, Teresa Louise Bachman and husband, Rick of Kirksville, and Amy Lea Arledge and husband, Jeff of St. Louis; five grandchildren, Luke, Alysa and Zach Bachman, and Mason and Madeline Arledge; two brothers, Larry Dobbins and wife, June of Los Angeles, California, and Gary Dobbins of Kirksville, Missouri; one half-brother, Bobby Dobbins and wife, Betty of East Peoria, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
Mike lived most of his life in Adair County, receiving his education in the Kirksville public schools. He retired from the Adair County Sheriff's office as Communication Officer after 16 years of service.
Mike was devoted to his family and he and Judy had raised nineteen foster children. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed fishing and camping.
He was a member of the Gallatin and Kirksville Masonic Lodges and the El Kadair Shrine Club of Kirksville.
Mike has been cremated and memorial services in his memory will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at the Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
