William W. "Bill" Scott born March 23, 1929 in Alabama. He filed for a Civil War Pension as a Veteran on July 12, 1906 in Lampasas, Texas at the age of 70 years. He stated he had lived in Lometa, Lampasas, Texas for about 20 years and was a farmer. He served in the army about 4 years. He went in about Nov. 1, 1861 at San Antonio and served until the break up in in 1865. He served in the 7th Texas Calvary, Third Reg. Sibleys Brigade Co II Cavalry. His tombstone shows Ala Pvt 3 Regt Sibley's Brig CSA.
After the war William met a widow Caroline Venicia "Carrie" Wilson Farris who had two small sons. They married Jan. 14, 1866 in Walker County, Texas. They had four children:Clemens Stanford "Clem" Scott 1866 – 1946; Joseph M "Joe" Scott 1869 – ; Richard W Scott 1875 – ; George W. Scott 1879 – . William helped her to raise the Farris children.
The family lived in Walker County for a few years and had moved to Houston, Harris County by 1870 census. They lived in Williamson County, Texas in 1880 and William was a farmer. They lived in Baird, Callahan County, Texas in 1900 census.
Carrie died in 1905 in Lampasas County, Texas. She was buried in the Long Cove Cemetery Lometa, Lampasas County Texas. William lived with his son Joseph's family in Lampasas in 1910. He died in Taylor County, Texas March 23, 1929.
