The Table Rock friends of L. S Fellers were shocked to hear of his death, which occurred at his home in Peru last Friday afternoon after a short illness. The remains were brought to Table Rock on Saturday afternoon, accompanied by J. C. Mardis, E.G. Conkle, O. D. Sears and J. W. McAdams, members of the Peru A.O.U.W. lodge, of which Mr. Fellers was a member. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at 11 o'clock, Rev. W. H. Parker preaching the sermon, and the A.O.U.W. lodges of Table Rock, Humboldt, Pawnee City and Peru, attending in a body and conducting the services at the grave. Hon. E. Lewellen Fellers was born August 12, 1863, on the homestead near Table Rock and spent his boyhood and young manhood there, about the age of 22 he was married to Miss Anna Belle Hansen, to this union three children were born- Nelle, Elsie, and Victor, Elsie dying in infancy. For 5 years after marriage they lived on the old home farm, and in 1891 moved into town where he engaged in business, he was an esteemed citizen, a loyal Christian worker and united with the Presbyterian church in 1883. Ten months ago he moved to Peru and engaged in the harness business. He leaves a wife, two young children, two brothers, and two sisters. He died in the faith of his father- face toward Zion, among his last words being "Heaven is nearer; it is well," and looking up he said "O, come quick". as if angelic forms hovered near. To the afflicted ones the sympathy of the community is extended.
