Obituary from the "Tribune" of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin dated 27 Jan 2007:
Neillsville - Ella Mae Pettis, 86, of Neillsville died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. Interment will be in the Columbia Cemetery in the town of Hewett.
Ella Mae was born on June 29, 1920, in Fairchild to Leonard and Luella (Smith) Rimling. She was united in marriage to Paul Woodrow Pettis on May 6, 1942, at the Fairview Church in Fairchild. After marriage, Ella worked as a homemaker and raised her family. Mr. Pettis died in 2001.
She is survived by three children, Paul M. (Beverly) Pettis of Cadott, Patricia (Arnold) Strangfeld of Nekoosa and Mary (Daniel) Dick of Neillsville; 17 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. rosary service Sunday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.
